NMC urges CM to regularise daily wagers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 4: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has urged upon the Chief Minister to regularize the services of daily wagers, seasonal labour, casual labour, motivators, contractual, consolidate of the various government departments who have completed 7 years of service till December, 2011. Addressing a largely attended NMC workers Rally at Rani Park, its president Subash Shastri said that he would take up this issue also with the state govt. at the earliest. Pleading the cause of State Govt. employees and pensioners, Shastri urged the Prime Minister and other central leaders for providing a special package of five thousand crore to the State Government towards payment of 6th pay commission arrears, regularization of the services of daily wagers, seasonal labour, casual labour, motivators, contractual, consolidate, employees and allied benefits to the employees and pensioners in one go. Shastri said that with price rise and inflation with every salaried class is facing a lot of economic hardships, adding that raising income tax exemption limit from 1.80 lacs to 3.00 lacs would be genuine measures to provide some relief to them. Other demands highlighted by Shastri on the occasion included release of wages of motivators working in IWDP besides their regularization. Issuance of orders of 180 daily wagers working in rural development department, timely release of wages of daily wagers working in the various government departments and continuation of services of casual labour of PWD, R and B Divisions No 1, 2, 3 and 4. |
