Romesh takes whirlwind tour of Jammu city

Jammu, Jan 21
Minister of State for Public Health Engineering and Industries Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma has said that 54 kanals of land would be transferred from Public Health Engineering Department to Jammu Municipal Corporation for construction of Modern Public Park near Shiv Mandir Raju Colony at Bikram Chowk Jammu.
Mr. Sharma said this while visiting the site today. He was accompanied MLA Mr. Yogesh Sahani, Commissioner JMC Mr. Vinod Sharma, Addition Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mr. Irshad Ahmed Zargar, Superintendent Engineering PHE Mr. V. K. Puri and various senior officers of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department.
Dr Romesh said that the proposed public park at Bikram Chowk would provide all modern facilities to the visitors. He said that water body would also be constructed for attraction of the visitors and pilgrime. He said a walking path along the upcoming park would be constructed for which MLA Mr. Yogesh Sawhney would provide Rs.7 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund. Dr Sharma said that proper lighting system would be installed for the pathway.
The Minister also visited Gurdwara at Sant Market Jewel. The Secretary Shaheed Bhagat Memorial Committee submitted a charter of demands for construction of memorial at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk in memory of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
The Minister asked the Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu Mr. Vinod Sharma to take up the matter for proper action. The Minister also visited Gurdwara Nanak Dev Ji Baradhari at Chand Nagar Jammu and interacted with the management of the Gurdwara Committee.
The Minister was informed that the seven storey building under construction would be biggest Gurdwara in J&K State. The Gurdwara would provide free accommodation and langer to the pilgrims. About 200 rooms are being constructed for free accommodation of pilgrims which would have all facilities. The Minister was further informed that Saroowar would also be constructed in front of the Gurdwara on the pattern of the Golden Temple Amritsar.
Earlier, Mr. Yogesh Sawhney demanded release of Rs.49.68 lakh additionality for augmentation drinking water facilities in Gujjar Nagar, Talab Khatian, Ghumat, Tange Wali Gali and Baba Jivan Shah Sahib.
