35 road projects taken up in Kathua under PMGSY: Sagar | Assembly-2012 | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 5 : Minister for Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar on the behalf of Chief Minister informed the House that construction work on 35 road projects involving sanctioned cost of Rs. 10180.36 lakhs have been taken up in Kathua district upto the end of January 2012 under PMGSY, adding that Rs. 3607.55 lakhs have been expended on the execution of these projects so far and all the road projects are likely to be completed during next fiscal. This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Charan Jeet Singh here today in Legislative Assembly. The Minister gave detailed physical and financial status of each road project. He said construction work of 3 road projects at a sanctioned cost of Rs. 706.18 lakhs have been taken up in Bani constituency under PMGSY of Phase-III to Phase-VII till January 2012. He said that an amount of Rs. 150.82 lakhs haven been incurred on these projects and said that the construction work of these road projects would be completed during next fiscal. The Minister said that execution of 7 road projects at the total cost of Rs. 1438.67 lakhs taken up in Basohli constituency during the said period. He said an amount of Rs. 679.89 lakhs expended on the execution of these projects by ending January 2012 and work on these projects are at different stages. Giving details of PMGSY road projects taken up in Billawar constituency, the Minister said that 15 road projects at the total estimated cost of Rs. 6069.03 lakhs have been taken up and an amount of Rs. 2244.50 lakhs have been incurred on execution of these road projects so far under PMGSY. He said execution of 6 road projects have been also taken up under PMGSY in Hiranagar constituency at the total cost of Rs. 1413.67 lakhs, adding that Rs. 284.98 lakhs have been incurred on these project upto January 2012 and pace of work of these projects are at different stages. The Minister said that execution of 4 road projects involving total cost of Rs. 552.81 lakhs have been taken up in Kathua constituency upto January 2012 under PMGSY. He said the work on these projects would be completed during next fiscal and so far an amount of Rs. 247.36 lakhs have been incurred on execution of these projects. In reply to the supplementaries raised by Harshdev Singh, Jagdish Raj Sapolia, Master Lal Chand and Ashwani Sharma, the Minister said that in order to take up the road projects and complete them well in time, the government has issued strict instructions to the concerned for expediting the tendering process of the road projects, adding that stringent action would be taken against those officials and contractors who will be found involved in delaying the execution of works. Replying to another question by G. M. Saroori, the Minister informed the House that MGNREGA has been sanctioned for unskilled labour and skilled labour is part of material component. He said the annual action plan of the scheme is formulated on the basis of demand for unskilled manual labour. He also gave detailed account of the beneficiaries of Jammu division and amount paid to them besides works taken up and completed during last 3 years under the scheme. |
