PDP protests 'poor' sanitary conditions | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Mar 5: Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) today held a massive protest against the present NC led coalition Government for its failure to ensure hygiene and cleanliness in Kathua city. The PDP workers led by their district president Surinder Singh blocked the National Highway to lodge their protest against the poor sanitary conditions. They raised slogans against the administration and alleged that it turned Kathua city into a big garbage dump adding that foul stinking dirt could be seen every where. The protesters said that the district administration has not taken any steps to restore cleanliness in the city due to which people are facing hardships in form of various ailments and diseases. Surinder Singh alleged that main Kathua city roads have not been repaired for the last three years. The district president said that if local people's problems are not addressed immediately then PDP will restore to massive dharna. He also appealed to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti to intervene and save the people of Kathua from miseries due to this 'ineffective' and 'corrupt' Government. |
