Panthers condemns police assault on peaceful NYC activists

Jammu, Mar 5: S Daljit Singh State Vice-President and Ms Anita Thakur State General Secretary of Panthers Party have condemned the brutal assault of the J&K Police headed by SHO Nawabad on peaceful protest of National Youth Corps (NYC) day before yesterday in which many girls were injured. Meanwhile Young Panthers protested against discrepancies in electoral rolls. They expressed their concern that the youth engaged in the process of national reconstruction by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resources and Sports on a meager honorarium per month were assaulted by the police.
"NYC was demonstrating for last 15 days on Dharna at Press Club, Jammu peacefully and day after yesterday wanted to march towards Secretariat peacefully to press their demand for regularizing their services permanently, the Panthers leaders said adding that JKNPP extended its full support to the cause of NYC urged upon the government to regularized services of these NYC as early as possible so that they may be able to live their life with honour and dignity.
Meanwhile Young Panthers (Youth wing of Panthers Party) today held a massive protest demonstration at the office of Chief Election Commissioner against the irregularities and discrimination with the Jammu Pradesh and announcing Municipal Elections in hash posh.
Led by Ms Anita Thakur (State Gen Secy. JKNPP) and Pushvinder Singh Manhas (Sr. Vice-President, Young Panthers and In-charge NPSU) the protestors staged protest outside the office of the CEC Jammu. Apprising Joint CEC with the anomalies, Pushvinder Singh Manhas said that until and unless the anomalies and irregularities are removed and due share of the people of Jammu Pradesh is given i.e., wards of JMC and Municipal Committees are increased in Jammu Pradesh also at par with that of Kashmir. Others who were present on the occasion include Viren Satti, Ram Sharma, Rawat Singh, Davinder, Rajesh Sharma, Akhilesh, Mohd. Arif, Waseem Choudhary.
