| Take up work of Polytech Coll, demand Banwat people | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, Mar 5: A strong protest was lodged by large number of citizens of Panchayats Gundi Banwat and Dhokri Banwat against the government over stopping of Polytechnic college work by the concerned agency.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Polytechnic College was sanctioned by the government in Banwat area of Poonch on state land while some area had been taken from locals.
Shamim Dar, PDP Leader and Sarpanch Gundi Banwat said, "Polytechnic College remained a major demand of Poonch city, as in past, it was very difficult for Poonchites to carry their higher studies outside District and state.
He said we strongly demand that the work should be started further as Polytechnic College is dire need of this far flung area.
"We can't understand, why government continuous to give step motherly treatment to Poonch District as we have suffered a lot and don't wants to be the sufferer more"
Mohd Ilyas Malik, Sarpanch Dhokri Banwat said, "We appeal to government to take this matter into immediate consideration and provide relief to Poonchites", adding, "It's a question of our future generation and we will not compromise on it and if govt. fails to start the project, we will launch intensive struggle for this." |
