Villagers up in arms against ruling party Sarpanch for corruption

KISHTWAR , Mar 5 : The villagers of Khal, Khadan, Poti, Motha in Upper Mundhar Panchayat in Kastigarh area of Doda District alleged mass irregularities and misappropriation of Electric poles by the ruling party Sarpanch.
As per the villagers, the power department has issued the electric poles as per the requirement of the population for the upper Mundhar area and alleged that the ruling Sarpanch for his vested interest and mollified intention misguided the poor people of his Panchayat, as a result of which the people of the area are facing great hardships.
The people alleged that the Sarpanch has grabbed the three electric poles out of 15 as was sanctioned and later issued by the department out of MLA funds.
They further alleged that the concerned Sarpanch recently installed two electric pole near the house of widow Taja Begum W/o Late Gul Mohammad Sheikh at Khal Upper Mundhar but after a month time of its installation, the said Sarpanch pressurize the widow lady for installation of the same pole near her house and he (Sarpanch) dramatically pressurize the concerned department also who too issues the order for removing the pole from that area.
The villagers demanded that the state government must take notice of the wrong doing of the Sarpanch. In this connection, a deputation of the villagers met with AEE PDD Doda regarding the same matter wherein the officer gives them assurance for the redresser of their problem. However, the villagers threaten to start a mass agitation against the erring Sarpanch if the District Administration failed to look into the matter of the people belong to panchayat upper Mundhar and demanded justice.
