| JU flags off contingent for adventure course | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 5: Director of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu (JU) today flagged off first contingent of 50 students for week-long River Rafting and Kayaking course on River Chenab at Baradari in district Reasi.
Drawn from different departments of the university, these students were dispatched by Director Sports, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau on the campus this morning.
Before they were flagged off, these students were briefed by the Director and other officers of the department with regard to the week-long adventure activity. Every participating student stands insured against Rs. two lakh for the duration of the course.
This activity is being organised through Chenab Tour and Travels to whom the Directorate has outsourced the whole training programme. And, students left for the course shall stay at Reasi during the period of their training.
A teacher with Department of Physical Education of the Directorate, Dr Rajinder Lal has been deputed with the contingent as a incharge for the convenience. |
