| PDP concerned over Jammu development; BJP, PP silent | | | Early Times Report
jammu, March 5: PDP, seen as Kashmir centric party, not only expressed concern over the lack of development in the Jammu city but also tried to floor the government on this issue in the House while BJP and Panther Party Members remained totally silent on it.
PDP Members AR Veeri in seeking reply to the question about the development activity in Srinagar city in a starred question of Mehbooba Mufti not only raised the concern over lack of development in the Srinagar city but also said the initiatives taken by PDP led government for developmental schemes for Jammu and Srinagar have not been followed up.
Even though the question was specifically related to the Srinagar city, PDP member extended its orbit and brought Jammu in it by saying that PDP led government had taken number of developmental schemes for the two capital cities but no follow up action was taken.
At a time when PDP Member was raising this, all four BJP Members, MLA of Panthers Party and even expelled BJP Members including Chaman Lal Gupta were sitting in the House.
But none of them supported Veeri on this issue which was concerning Jammu city itself. They didn't speak a single line. The same Members were up on foot on alleged discrimination with Jammu region on many issue.
It's not for the first time that BJP and PP have remained silent on issue raised by PDP which are not only for Kashmir but also affect the Jammu region also.
About 10-day back PDP had brought adjournment motion on the issue of Corruption.
But neither BJP nor Panthers Party supported it, though the onus was more one BJP which had raised a political pitch.
Even on the adjournment motion to discuss media boycott on some remarks of the Speaker was not backed by both BJP and PP. The silence of these parties was more curious as majority of the media personnel boycotting the proceedings were from Jammu region though supported by Kashmir media personnel.
The silence of Jammu based leaders give credence to the allegations of PDP president that government is using some Members as daily wagers. |
