DAA&M looks after the monuments, archaeology sites of historical importance: Sagar | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 6 : Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar while replying to a question by Ravinder Kumar Sharma, informed the House that the Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums (DAA&M) is looking after the monuments/sites of archaeology and historical importance within the ambit of Ancient Monuments Preservation Act, 1977 Smvt. and Amendment Act, 2010. The declared sites as per the act are being restored/developed in a phased manner as per the availability of funds. He said the Mughal Sarais/sites identified en-route from Nowshera to Buffliaz on the Mughal Road are, Nowshera, Shahi Masjid Nowshera, Narian Fort, Chingus Saria, Muradpur Saria with Mosque, Thanadmandi saria, Buffliaz (Heritage site /village), Noori Chamb (Historical site) while as Mughal Saria near Hirpur, Sokh Saria and Aliabad Saria are the sites identified en-route from Shopian side. Replying to another question by Sheikh Ghulam Qadir Pardesi the Minister said that the villages of Harwan, Khimber, Chatterhama and Dara (Faqir Gojri) did not qualify for establishment of fire and Emergency Stations as per norms and guidelines laid down by Standing fire Advisory Council (SFAC) Government of India, adding the area is presently catered by Fire and Emergency Services, Shalimar. |
