| Rajouri tense after Togadia's remarks | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Mar 6: The town, which was already tense after VHP leader Praveen Bhai Togadia's "objectionable" remarks at Shakha Ground here on Sunday, today witnessed a minor "clash" during Bhairav jhanki.
After Togadia's remarks in a VHP meeting at Shakha Ground here Sunday last were termed highly "objectionable" by the majority community, a tension had gripped the town.
His utterances were strongly condemned by the majority community members.
The tension rose further today when during the Bhairav jhanki, stone pelting occured between the two sides.
A minor clash also took place between the two communities. However, before the situation could take an ugly turn, police intervened. A huge deployment of cops was made in and around the town to maintain peace. Senior police and civil officers also visited the town and took stock of the situation. An appeal was also made to the people to maintain peace and communal brotherhood |
