Health care services explained to adolescent girls | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 6: More than 50 adolescent girls along with anganwari workers of Dhansal block visited government hospital Sarwal, Jammu today. They were led by CDPO Dhansal Sonali Arun Gupta. Arun Sharma Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu had a detailed discussion with them and gave them elaborate lecture of Health care services, services being provided in the health institutions of J&K, Government Schemes especially NRHM, JSSK, JSY, Adolescent programmes (ARSH) and other benefits especially for women, children and adolescents in particular. CDPO Dhansal Sonali Arun Gupta thanked Arun Sharma Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu for his gesture and explained about Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for empowerment of Adolescent girls (RGSEAG)-SABLA . The SABLA scheme aims at empowering adolescent girls of 11-18 years by improving their nutritional and health status, up gradation of home skills, life skills and vocational skills. The girls will be equipped with information on health and family welfare, hygiene and guidance on existing public services. The scheme is implemented using the platform of ICDS and AWCs would be the focal point for the delivery of services. However, where infrastructure and other facilities are inadequate in AWCs, then alternative arrangements will have to be made in schools / Panchayat Community buildings. |
