Man, 2 sons held for killing paramour | | | early times report JAMMU, Mar 7: A villager and his two sons were today apprehended by police at Chakal in Ramnagar, Udhampur, for allegedly killing a man by pushing him off a hill into a deep gorge last month. The dead was alleged to have developed illicit relations with the villager's wife and this became the reason for his murder, police sources said. The accused were identified as Kunju Ram, son of Sant Ram of Chakal, and his sons -- Bodh Raj and Subash Chander. The victim, whom sources identified as Sudesh Kumar, son of Shambu Nath, too hailed from Chakal. His body was found lying in a deep gorge at Morha Kamarian, Chakal, on February 17 last. The body, which bore multiple wounds, was removed by police to hospital where post-mortem was conducted on it. Sources said during investigation, police came to know that Sudesh had illicit relations with Kunju's wife. Few days before his alleged murder, Kunju had seen them in a compromising position, the sources added. He and his sons then conspired to eliminate him. They invited him their home and offered him drinks. When he was heavily drunk, he left their home for his residence. They then followed him. Sources said while Sudesh was passing through an unfrequented area, Kunju overpowered him from behind and his two sons started beating him with lathies. The threesome then dragged him to the edge of the hill and allegedly pushed him into a gorge, resulting in his death, the sources added. Sources said Kunju and his sons had allegedly confessed to having murdered Sudesh and were cooling their feet in the police lock up. A case under sections 302 and 34 of RPC was registered against them at the concerned police station. |
