| Illicit relations: TA Jawan guns down two ladies | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, Mar 7: A Territorial Army (TA) jawan shot dead two ladies suspecting illicit relations. "The incident took place in Poonch today at 9 am, when a TA jawan first killed Sara Bano (45) and then Yasmeen Akhtar (37) with his service weapon and started searching his wife, when he failed to search his wife, he went to the roof of his house and started shouting for his wife, sources said.
Hearing the sound of fires general public as well as police lead by SHO Poonch Sanjeev Singh reached the spot. Police told the Jawan to come down but he denied and reiterated to kill his wife and two brothers in laws. The drama remained continued for half an hour and police officials continued to pacify him, but the TA jawan warned the police that if any body will try to capture him he will open fire.
Sensing the sensitive situation SHO Poonch Sanjeev engaged him in conversation while Dy SP operation Javid Ahmed pounced over him from his back and captured him. In a scuffle between them TA Jawan fired four shots but nobody got injury.
SSP Poonch Ashkoor Ahmed Wani told the reporters that in initial investigation we found that TA Jawan identified as Tariq Khan of 156 TA posted at Mendher suspecting about illicit relations of his wife with a local youth. "He rushed to Poonch with his service weapon and looked for his wife and went to his neighbor's home and killed one of his neighbour Sara Begum then Yasmeen as he was informed that the two ladies were supporting the illicit relations of his wife. A case has been registered at P/S Poonch and police has started the investigations, he added. |
