Nobody would be allowed to vitiate peace in Rajouri: Sagar

JAMMU, Mar 9 : Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice, Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar today informed the House that the situation in Rajouri district is under control.
In a statement in the Legislative Assembly today, Mr Sagar said "Dr. Parveen Tagodia, Acting President VHP visited Rajouri on 4-3-2012 for fund collection (Dharam Raksha Nidhi) and addressed a gathering of approximately 1000 Persons at Shakha Ground Rajouri. During his speech, he made some provocative and inflammatory comments for which case FIR No. 984012 U/S 153-A RPC was registered against him at Police Station Rajouri". He further said "on March 5th around 1500 hour, members of Muslim Community numbering 100 to 200 took out a protest rally from Talab wali Masjid to Gujjar Mandi against provocative speech of Dr. Tagodia.
On reaching at city chowk, the protestors raised objectionable slogans and burnt the effigy of Dr. Tagodia". He said "on March 6th, Bhairo Jhanki procession comprising 550 to 600 persons was taken out by the members of Hindu community from Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Rajouri at 1630 hours under the leadership of Dinesh Sharma.
Meanwhile, around 100 to 150 members of Muslim Community also took out a procession from Bharon wali Masjid raising slogans and both the processions came across each other at about 1730 hours near City Chowk Rajouri. The saner elements from both the communities and police prevented them from raising objectionable slogans.
However, some mischievous elements pelted stones from the roof steps of the nearby buildings. Police fired few tear gas shells to control the situation. At 1825 hours, DC and SSP Rajouri reached on the spot to control the situation and Section 144 Cr.PC was immediately imposed in the town to maintain law and order.
He said "on March 7 about 80-100 Hindu youth took out Holi procession from Santan Dharam Sabha upto Bus stand. They dispersed at 1230 hours. At 1245 hours around 30 Hindu youth on two wheelers again took out a rally from Sanatan Dharam Sahba and marched upto city chowk and raised objectionable slogans. Meanwhile around 50 to 60 youths of the Muslim Community assembled in Mir Mohalla Rajouri and raised objectionable slogans. Police with the help of some saner elements pacified the youth. They insisted that the Hindu should celebrate Holi peacefully and should not raise objectionable slogans which could create tension in the town.
At 1400 hours the Hindu community took out Bhario Jhanki procession comprising 1800 to 1900 from Sanatan Dharam sahba and marched towards city chowk. When the procession reached near the town hall at around 1550 hours, some mischievous elements pelted stones on the procession due to which 2 to 3 person sustained minor injuries. Case FIR No. 104/12 u/s 153-A RPC was registered in the matter at Police Station Rajouri .Sagar said that IGP Jammu has already reached Rajouri to supervise the administrative action. In all 05 cases have been registered in the matter and 11 arrests have been made so far. The District Administration is dealing with the situation firmly. Adequate deployment has been made to enforce Sec 144 CrPC and nobody shall be allowed to disturb peace and tranquillity in the area, he added.
