58 new tourist spots identified for development: Taj

Jammu, Mar 9 : The Government has identified 58 new tourist spots for development in the State during current financial year, informed Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Taj Mohi-ud-Din on behalf of Tourism and Culture Minister in the Legislative Assembly here today.
He said Dewan pur Krava, Kaskoot and Nowgam spots in Banihal Tehsil have also been identified for tourism development.
Replying to a question by Vikar Rasool , the Minister said that areas of Doligam, Nowgam, Neeltop and Pogal Paristan have been brought on State tourism map by inclusion of these areas for eligibility of incentives under Tourism Incentive Rules. He said inclusion of these areas is part of the modifications in the incentive rules for tourism sector announced by the government. These incentive shall become available for development of infrastructure in these areas through private sector after issuance of formal notification. He said there is no proposal for establishment of a separate Tourism Development Authority at Mahu Mangith. He said establishment of a separate Development Authority for Doda, Ramban and Reasi districts is under consideration of the government and Mahu Mangith falling in Tehsil Banihal would form part of the jurisdiction of the proposed Development Authority.
He said development of Ziyarat Aslam Shah Sahab, Ziyarat Mehmood Shah Sahib, Syed Sahib, Ziyarat Sharif Saad Sahab, and Ziyarat Shar ief Shah Ashraf Sahab in Bani hal Tehsil have been taken up.
