Early Times Report
Jammu Mar 9: Alleging that the District administration has extended an silent support to unidentified miscreants instead of handling the situation in Rajouri, the Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) today condemned the attack on procession of Bhairav Devta taken out on the Holi festival in rajouri by some miscreants.
Addressing a joint press conference VHP leaders namely Rajesh Gupta, Vice President VHP J&K State and Dr Shyam Lal Gupta, State Secretary VHP, Judge (Retd) K K Paroch, Dr V K Gupta, President Jammu Mahanagar and Madhav Vaid stated that an attempt has been made by the miscreants to disrupt age old religious tradition of annual Bhairav processions at Rajouri during Holi Festival. "For continued two days, the procession was attacked by miscreants with an aim to put a stop on this tradition despite minority community maintained tolerance and have given peaceful reactions, they said and further alleged that district administration has given a silent support to miscreants by not only harassing devotees of religious procession but also imposed curfew in town. Speakers said this seems to be an attempt to demoralize minority community and apprehend it as aimed to forced migration of minority community.
VHP has vowed to contest this attempt of separatist forces tooth and nail and will not allow the repeat of 1989 of Kashmir in Rajouri. They added that a delegation of senior VHP office bearers comprising of State Secretary, Dr Shyam Lal Gupta, Nand Kishore Mishra, Bajarang Dal Zonal Convener North, Judge (Retd) K K. Paroch and Madahav Vaid of Bajrang Dal will visit Rajouri and call on local administration.
Commenting on the reduction of Amarnath Yatra tenure, VHP Leaders aguishly said it has become a routine over here and reiterated that Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board must see the matter and ensure the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra from Jyeshtha Purnima to Raksha Bandhan.
Meanwhile Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal today held protest march and burn effigy of J&K Governor NN Vohra at New Delhi against recent attacks on Hindus in Rajauri, booking them in false cases and reduction of Yatra.
Addressing the protesters in New Delhi, member central advisory board of VHP BL Sharma Prem asked whether Hindus have no right to practice their religion in the state? Why the religious precession were attacked in Rajauri by the anti national elements in front of the administration? Instead of detaining attackers police arrested Hindus?
VHP state Media chief Vinod Bansal state VHP president Swadesh Pal Gupta, vice president Mahaveer Prasad Gupta, General secretary Styendra Mohan, secretary Sailendra Jaiswal, Bajarang Dal chief Shiv Kumar etc also spoke on the occasion.
