| HC stays SAC order against SWB chairperson | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 9: High court judge, Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir today stayed operation of order passed by state accountability commission (SAC) against state social welfare board (SWB) chairperson Khem Lata Wakhloo. In her petition, Wakhloo had challenged the February 17, 2012, SAC order on various grounds.
Justice Mir, after hearing the counsels of two sides, issued notice to respondents returnable within four weeks.
Keeping in view the contention raised in the petition and submission made at the bar, the court was prima-facie convinced that there were such legal issues involved in the petition as go to the route of exercise of powers by SAC and required determination by the court. Therefore, it would be just appropriate to stay the operation of the impugned order in so far as it related to the issuance of show cause notice in terms section 16 of the Act. |
