| NPSU protest 'discrimination' with Jammu | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 9: National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) today held a massive protest demonstration at Jammu University against the irregularities and discrimination with Jammu and announcement of Municipal elections in haste. The protest was led by T Varinder Singh President Jammu University, NPSU.
The activists of NPSU assembled at University of Jammu where they started raising slogans against the state government and Chief Election Commissioner who is hell bent to ignore the due share of Jammu in the upcoming elections of Municipal Corporation.
Varinder Singh said that the state government is once more trying to shun the genuine voice of the people of Jammu Pradesh who are demanding the delimitation of Jammu Municipal Corporation wards as the in the Kashmir Province 12 more Municipal Committees are established whereas only 4 are increased in Jammu Pradesh and on the other hand wards of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) have been raised from 65 to 75 but those of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) remained unchanged at 71.
Addressing the media persons, Varinder Singh said that it is very unfortunate that the ministers, MLAs and MLCs from the Jammu Pradesh neither spoke even a single word regarding this in State Assembly nor in media. |
