Jammu Jan 21
Traditional love stories are full of sacrifice and commitment but something strange has happened in this “Gadigarh Love Story” - a story of two young love birds, who entered into wedlock through court marriage but have turned against each other.
Ostensibly, the girl in this case has come under immense pressure from her family and has been forced to lodge allegations against someone, who was dear to her.
According to reliable source, the girl, who was in love with the boy has lodged a complaint against him in Satwari Police Station stating that there was no relationship between them. The boy, she, alleged was trying to malign her character by trying
to establish a relationship between them
According to sources, Jatinder Singh (25), a soldier in Indian Army and Preeti Khanna (name changed) both neighbours and residents of Lower Gadigarh had fallen in love with each other and last year they secretly married in court on on August 30.
However, they did not make their marriage public and continued to live at their own places.
Due to his marriage with the above said girl, Jatinder started evading all the marriage proposals put forth by his parents. After a gap of nearly four month, Jatinder narrated the entire story to his parents and requested that a formal marriage may be solemnized with the consent of Preeti’s parents, sources added.
Thereafter, Jatinder’s parent approached the parents of Preeti with formal marriage proposal along with copy of their marriage documents and the album of their (Jatinder-Preeti) private photographs. But, Preeti’s parents seriously objected to the matter and out rightly rejected the proposal.
Thereafter, she was beaten up by her family members and emotionally black mailed to lodge complaint in Police Station against Jatinder Singh and his family members.
One of her family friends also played an important role in changing the stance of the girl. Finally, the girl agreed to register a complaint against Jatinder Singh and his family. In her complaint, she denied being married with Jatinder in court and alleged that he and his family members are trying to malign her image with producing fake marriage document and manipulated photographs.
Jatinder, however, has claimed that their marriage document and all the photographs produced by him are authentic. He alleged that Preeti is being pressurized by her family members to act in this manner. In the meantime, the police has taken cognizance of the matter and called upon the parents of the both girl and boy for ascertaining the truth.
