| JU’s biz school scaling new heights, enters elite group of top five | | Exploring possibility of joint MBA program with Carleton University | |
Devender Padha Jammu | Jan 21 The Business School, University of Jammu (JU), has set a new benchmark by entering into the elite group of top five B-Schools amongst the Indian Universities and it has also made its presence felt in the top 50 Management Schools of the country, as per the Outlook Survey. Apart from it, sixteen of its students from third semester have secured placement on the package of nearly 40 thousand a month in the top corporate houses of the India including IDBI, ICICI, Tata Tele Services, SBI life etc for the first time in the history of 20 years of its MBA programme. Dr. Keshav Sharma, Director, Business School said the Placement Cell has been empowered with the institutional membership of CII, FICCI, AIMA, Indian Habitat Centre and Indian International Centre which is resulting into the instant placements of students. Convener Placement cell, Dr Alka Sharma is doing well with the able support of Anil Gupta, Komal Nagra and some senior students of the department, he added. So far, Business School has been able to provide 100 percent placement to its students in leading National and International companies. It is also exploring the possibility of having a joint MBA program with the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, Ottawa in Canada for which a formal presentation has also been made in this regard. Business School, JU has also been working in for academic collaboration with the department of Management, University of Lethbridge and University of Calgary, Alberta in Canada. Emphasizing on the need for the development of new mindset, Dr Sharma said that globalization; digital revolution and emerging new business models are significantly contributing to the changes in the corporate spectrum, which has necessitated the development of a new mindset as well as newer managerial competencies for ensuring survival in a dynamic and challenging market scenario. He further informed that MAT brochure for the upcoming session is almost prepared and will be issued by the end of February this year. It is to mention that JU Business School was ranked B+ after the AIMA Survey 2006.
