| One Arrested for Human Trafficking | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 9 : One person has been arrested by the Baramulla Police for his involvement in Human trafficking. Following continuance complaints about one person namely Nazir Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Samad Bhat resident of Checki Jamal Mir for his involvement in Human trafficking, a special Police team under the supervision of Station House Officer-SHO Police Station Pattan Mohammad Abdullah, was constituted to crack the crime.
During the course of investigation it came to surface that Nazir Ahmad Bhat had brought one lady namely Mst Nargis wife of Mohammad Tareeqat resident of Bihar Pattan Imam Gunj at present Rangpora Bulandshair Uttar Pradesh, from outside the state and sold her to one person at Chanibal for the purpose of marriage. In the mean time, the said Nazir managed the escape of the bride from her in-laws and got her re-married at Sadpora Pattan with some other person. Nazir Ahmad was planning her another escape and another marriage with one Mohd Abdullah Ganie son of Abdul Razak Ganie resident of Gund Ibrahim.
The said accused has a strange modus operandi by charging a hefty amount from the prospective grooms to whom he would sell the said lady, for marriage.
By the timely intervention of Police both lady and her first husband- Mohammad Abdullah were arrested. However, the main accused Nazir Ahmad Bhat is still at large and efforts are on to nab him. In this context, Police has registered a case FIR No. 65/2012 U/S 366-B RPC in Police Station Patta and further investigation on. |
