| Seminar on ‘Rabindranath Tagore’ anniversary held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 9: Jay Kay women welfare society, Jammu with the financial support Ministry of Culture , Govt of India , New Delhi and the coordination of North Zone Cultural Center , Patiala held a day long seminar to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Gurudeva Rabindranath Tagore here today at K.l Sehgal Hall , Cultural Academy , Jammu .
On this occasion Mohd. Yusaf Taing a well known writer , Scholar ,culture activist and Deputy Chairman of Legislative council was the Chief guest. The function was commenced after lighting the traditional lamp by the guests present on this occssion .
Taing was also felicitated by Jay Kay women Welfare Society on his elevation of Deputy Chairman of the legislative council of the J&K State .
While Veena Gupta noted literary figure and former Head of Dogri Department presided over the inaugural session .Mohan Singh , renowned Dogri Poet and playwright present Key note Savita Bakshi , Additional Secretary , J&K Academy of Art , Culture and Languages was the Guest of honor who highlighted the contribution of R. N Tagore in the field of music called Rabinder Sangeet .
The paper reading session was presided over by renowned Dogri poet and Sahitya Academy Awardee D. K . Vaid .
In this session various prominent scholars included Khalid Hussain Sat Pal Shree Vats, Raj Kumar , Sushil Sharma Puran Chand Badgotra , Ravinder Sharma and Pawan Khajuria presented their research papers on the different aspects of Tagore's writing . |
