Basic foundation course for sarpanches, panches concludes

Jammu, Mar 9: The basic foundation course for all Sarpanches and Panches of seventeen panchayat Halqas of block Majalta concluded today. A total of 145 elected representatives including 46 female Panches attended the Training Programme for capacity building at Block HQ Mansar.
In this Training Progr amme the elected representatives were made aware about the various aspects of Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act Viz importance of Gram Sabha, role and responsibility of Halqa Panch yats, Property of Halqa Panchayat, conduct of business, Panch ayati Adalat, Right to information act, Social audit, State and centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented by Rural Development Department, Social welfare Department.
Block Development Officer Majalta Chand Kishore Sharma while concluding the Training programme exhorted the Sarpanches and panches to assist the administration in the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes at the grass root level so that maximum benefit percolates to the poor and deserving people.
Meanwhile, a similar programme for Sarpanches and Panches organised by BDO Nowshera Rajeev Kha juria began today at Block headquarter. This course will continue for 24 days in which resource persons from Rural Development Deptt will provide the sarpanches and Panches knowledge and functions of Panchyati Raj Act, power and function of Sarpanches and Panches, Panchayat Adalat, state and centrally sponsored schemes. Right to Information Act and other related issues pertaining to the functioning of Panchayat leading to services delivery at the door steps of rural masses.
