MTA Jammu calls on CM

Jammu, Mar 9: A deputation of Medical Teachers Association (MTA), Jammu led by Dr. Tariq P. Azad called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here and discussed various issues pertaining to the welfare of medical fraternity in the State.
The deputation which comprised of Dr. Sunil Kotwal, Dr. S. K. Bali, Dr. Bela Mahajan and Dr. Bhupesh Khajuria, brought to the notice of the Chief Minister matters regarding the pay parity with the medical faculty of neigh bouring states, compensation to the service rendered by faculty in health department before joining the medical education department, streamlining of the time bound promotion and enhancing of the age of superannuation. The doctor's delegation also highlighted the request of various super specialists working in Government Medical College for adjustment in Super Speciality Hospital.
It also discussed other matters pertaining to the welfare of medical fraternity.
The Chief Minister gave patient hearing and said that the memorandum presented by the Association would be given due consideration.
