3/10/2012 12:30:21 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAMNAGAR, Mar 9: Alleging that elected representative Harsh Dev Singh from Ramnagr clandestinely taking up the cause of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the the Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) activists today held a protest here today demanding his 'disqualification.' Meanwhile a memorandum regarding the demand was submitted to J&K Governor N N Vohra through Tehsildar Ramnagar.
Earlier a large number of Youth Congress workers assembled in the town and then marched through the main bazaars of the town. Led by R S Pathina the PYC leader, the Youth Congress activists amidst slogans against Harsh Dev Singh the MLA Ramnagar, alleged that on one hand, Harsh Dev poses himself as champion of the rights of people of Jammu, whereas on the other side, he clandestinely partners with Kashmir based political parties.
Demanding local MLA should also be dismissed for having defected against his party's whip for not voting in favour of PDP, the protesters even blamed that he had been paid crores of rupees from the PDP for voting in favour of PDP alongwith his other two party MLAs.
They also went into the office of Tehsildar for giving a memorandum to Governor N N Vohra through Tehsildar Ramnagar to this effect. The PYC memorandum demanded three MLAs of JKNPP have violated the party directive and not voted for their respective party candidate Faqir Nath who got not a single vote. "The MLAs belonging to his JKNPP defying party whip had cross voted towards PDP, the PYC memorandum stated furthering adding that, "The highly unethical conduct of Panthers MLAs had even provoked their candidate, Faquir Nath, to announce retirement from politics."
PYC accordingly urges to Governor of state for a CBI inquiry into the infamous
'cash-for-vote' by the panthers members who had 'bartered' the mandate given to them their mandate against the pan-Kashmiri and pro-secessionist outfits
