| CSSS, SWF celebrates International Women's Day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 10: International Women's day was celebrated by Catholic Social Service Society (CSSS) celebrated International Women's day at Fatima Convent, Bishnah.
The programme began with a massive rally of more than 1000 women which started from Fatima Convent, and it was followed by the cultural function.
On the occasion Ashwani Sharma, MLA, Bishnah was the chief guest while Rev. Fr. Peter Celestine was the guest of honour. Fr. Justin Director, CSSS extended a warm welcome to all the participants.
The programme started with a prayer dance by students of Fatima Convent and followed by many other cultural programmes related to women issues. While speaking on the occasion, chief guest for the function Ashwani Sharma congratulated CSSS for carrying out the wonderful work related to women development in the entire Jammu region. Meanwhile in another function held at Moazdoor Basti Resham garh, Women’s day was celebrated under the banner of State Women’s Federation.
The president of the organizzation shezadi Gill on the occassion threw light on the importance of Women’s Day on the importance of Women’s Day. She further said that women is still facing the challenges and difficulties others who were present include Sofia Bhatia, Maryam Peter, Neelam Sobia, Mancha Sotra, Sunaina and other. |
