Citizen Forum demands CBI probe into funds' bungling in JKCA | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 10: Citizen Forum has demanded a CBI probe into the alleged bungling of funds in Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) that has come to fore recently. In a press statement issued here today, the president Citizen Forum R K Chadha said that the BCCI has been allocating and releasing funds to the JKCA for promotion of cricket in the state instead of spending it to promote the game the money is allegedly siphoned off by its officials. The way in which money is being misappropriated by the authorities in JKCA it appears that the money is sent as share profit from BCCI to the officials of the various states for their personal use. Chadha demanded that BCCI should be probed for not keeping an account of the activities of the state units for expenditures and sought monitoring of funding by the BCCI to the state units by Union Sports Ministry. He further demanded that JKCA should give a complete account of the money received from all sources including BCCI for the last 15 year and the steps taken for the promotion of the game in the state. The FIR against the officials who have siphoned off the money should be logged, the Forum further demanded. |
