Udhampur, Mar 10: As a new dimension was added to the issue of granting mandate for MLC-ship against the seat rendered vacant after the death of Yash Pal Khajuria with the entire District Congress Committee, Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress, SC/ST Cell, Migrant Cell, Seva Dal, in a joint meeting have decided to stand against any outsider to be considered against the vacant seat.
The participants in today's meeting even threatened mass resignations, and passed resolutions addressed to the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi saying, 'Congressmen of Udhampur in particular, and Jammu region at random, shall highly react and oppose any candidate from outside to be put in place against a seat that had been earmarked as a political representation for Udhampur district'.
Udhampur Congress had recommended the candidature Bhupinder Singh Pathania, President DCC Udhampur who had been associated with party since 1958 and has been selflessly serving the party.
The signatories to the resolution communicated to party high command stated General Secretary, DCC Udhampur, President DYC Udhampur, , District President, NSUI Udhampur (J&K).
