UPA asks govt to fulfill pharmacists' demands | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Mar 10: Unemployed Pharmacists Association (UPA) Doda has criticized the State Government for not fulfilling the demands of Unemployed Pharmacists of the state. In a press statement issued today, district president UPA Javed Iqbal Sheikh said that last year the leaders of the Association met with Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Director NRHM and Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma regarding inclusion and adjustment of unemployed Pharmacist/Medical Assistant diploma holders on the pattern of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scheme but till date no action has been taken so far as a result of which several diploma holders are facing great hardships. He said that other Para Medical disciples like Laboratory Assistant, X-ray Assistant, Operation Technology (OT) and recently Male Multipurpose Health Workers diploma holders of J&K are being adjusted under NRHM and demanded for adjustment of the Pharmacists as well. The President appealed to all unemployed Pharmacist diploma holders of Jammu Division as well as Kashmir Division to join hands with UPA to fight for their genuine cause. The UPA made an appeal to Chief Minister J&K, Health Minister and Director NRHM to look into the matter and redress the demand of the diploma holders within a month's time so that the confrontation path could be avoided.
