Action against Gelani depends on Delhi police investigation: Khoda | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar Mar 10: Kuldeep Khoda, director general of police, today said that any action against hardliner Huriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Gelani depended upon the investigation of Delhi police which claimed the busting of LeT module after arresting two militants including Athesham Malik from whose custody a visa recommendation letter given by Gelani was recovered. He said Delhi police was looking into the matter. Any action against Gelani would be decided as per the investigation carried out by Delhi police. "As and when Delhi police seek our help regarding legal action against Gelani, we will provide it," he added. He said that currently there were negligible number of youth joining militant outfits in the state. The youth here were now fully aware about their future and had been helping police in anti-militancy operations, he added. He said there were only 12 militants left in the erstwhile Doda. Seven were active in Kishtwar and 5 in Ramban , while Doda was militancy free, he added. Speaking on investigations in Delhi high court blast, the DGP said that NIA was investigating the role of youth arrested from Kishtwar. "We are after few more accused and when we are able to catch them, the investigation into the Delhi high court blast will reach its conclusion," he added.He said that the ongoing operation in Marwah area of Kishtwar was to nab the accused in the Delhi high court blast who were hiding in the forests. Two accused in the case, including Waseem Malik and Amir Abbas Dev, were presently in the Tihar, while three other accused Shakir Hussain alias Chota Hafiz, Amir Kamal alias Akram and Junaid Akram Malik alias Juni, all HM militants, were still at large. |
