| CM should step down with dignity: Manhas | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 11: In continuation of its month long programmes being organised in different areas of Jammu, a massive "Jan Sammelan" was organised in Ward No. 53 of Trikuta Nagar on Sunday, in which BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas was the chief guest. It was organised by BJYM National Executive Member Aseem Gupta. While addressing massive gathering on the occasion, Manhas said that BJP is not only a political party but a mission with its prime agenda to strengthen nationalist forces and work towards strengthening state's ties with the Indian Union. We have been making sacrifices right from the days of Praja Parishad to ensure full integration of the state with the rest of the country, he added and said that Kashmir is crown of our mother India and every activist of BJP is committed to maintain its honour and dignity at any cost. Coming down heavily on the State Chief Minister, Manhas said that Omar Abdullah has been questioning the accession of the state just to keep himself in the news ignoring the historical fact that the then Maharaja Hari Singh signed the same Instrument of Accession with the Union of India as was done by other princely states and hence the issue has been settled once and for ever. He said that the Chief Minister, who has failed to provide good governance, has been making such statements to divert the attention of the masses from his failures but he cannot befool the people any more. Manhas said that the Kashmir centric and pro-Pakistan forces in the state will not succeed in their evil designs till a single activist of BJP is alive and declared that we will launch a massive campaign to expose NC and PDP for their relentless efforts to destabilize the state as also the dangerous silence on part of the Congress to what these parties have been uttering from time to time. BJP National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the people accuse ministers and MLAs for their failures to come up to their expectations but when they get chance to elect the persons of their choice, they either avoid voting or vote in favour of the candidates without taking into consideration their credentials and image. BJYM National Executive Member Aseem Gupta presented vote of thanks while Distt. Vice-President S. Amrik Singh delivered welcome address and Rajesh Gupta conducted proceedings of the programme. Vikram Randhawa, S. Gurdev Singh, Arun Khosla, Mela Ram Sharma, Sham Lal, Suresh Gupta, Mulkh Raj Pargal, Kundan Lal, Yog Raj and others also addressed the gathering. |
