| Pensioner's of muncipality, local bodies asso. hold convention | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 11: A day long convention was organized by the pensioners of muncipal and local bodies association at Jammu club here today. As per press release function was presided over by M.P Choudhary lal singh which president Bar association Jammu advocate B.S.Slathia was guest of honour. other prominent persons present on the occassion were B.S. Jamwal of International council of Jurists, D.G accounts Wali Mohd Bhatt and M.A. Malik. At the of Convention number of speakers Prominent among them B.S Jamwal welcomed the guests in the convention who came from all the ten districts of the Province. Jamwal explained the the history of the Municipal & Urban Local Bodies in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and their achievements right from 1884 to upto date, their resources and other allied problem faced by them during the span of 128 years and also give thanks to the State and its functionaries for granting a status to bring the Pensioners of the Local Bodies and par with the State Pensioners and allowed them to draw pensions from the Bank w.e.f 1-4-2012 general Secretary of the Association B.D Verma put forth the charater of the demands of the Association one by one for their redressal enhancement of Medical Allowance, Accommodation at Jagti township Nagrota to the migratined kasmiri pensioners, grant of the State subject to those safai karamcharis who were brought on 13-03-1958 from Amritsar under the orders of Prime Minister late Bakshi Ghulam Mohd., due to strike of Safai karamcharis of the Jammu Municipality during the relevant period.
Their children now who are qualified needs service in other department other than the Municipality at higher posts but they could not get it for want of State Subject even after a lapse of time of 52 years. It is quite unfair on the part of State to back out from the peomises, revision of pension benefit pre 2006 of retirees at par with the central Govt. Creation of grievance cell for the redressal of problem of urgent nature of the Pensioners. Office Accommodation with in the premises of to carry out day today solution of the problems faced by them. Special provision for the qualified wards of the retiree Municipal & Local Bodies. With the special reference that the preference will be given to the wards of them. District President Kartar Singh Lakhanpuria District President Kathua, Hans Raj Sapolia District President Reasi, Raghubir Singh District President Samba, Mohd. Aslam District President Udhampur expressed their views. Slathia appreciated the efforts put forth by the Association in mitigating the suffering of the Pensioners and assured that legal assistance will be provide if needed free of cost. S.S Shingari appreciated the efforts of Association particularly B.S Jamwal, B.D Verma and many others.
Director Accounts and Treasury Wali Mohd. Bhatt announced that the Govt. has principally agreed to open the office of Examiner/CAO Local Fund Audit Cell Jammu for Jammu Province hence demand fulfilled, and with regard to the rest of demands will be tabled before the Govt. for their redressal. |
