Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 11: Nisar Ahmed IPS, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Jammu today held Darbar of Gazetted/ Non-gazetted officers and other ranks of Crime Branch, Jammu at District Police Lines, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. About 200 Officers and Jawans were present in the Darbar. At the very outset the SSP explained the purpose of holding Darbars and Orderly Rooms to the Officers and Jawans present in the Darbar. He advised the participants to raise only collective problems being faced by them in performing Govt. duties as the individual problems / grievances can be raised in the Orderly Room being held every Wednesday at the Zonal Headquarters, Crime Branch, Jammu. He enjoined upon all ranks to maintain exemplary discipline and leave no stone unturned in developing / adopting the skills of a professional police personnel. He made it clear to everyone that after the independence of the Country in 1947 the policemen are no more "Hakims" of the public; they are rather "Khadims" (servants) of the public and police personnel should always be readily available in the service of a common person irrespective of his/her caste, colour, creed or social/financial status. By dint of their devotion, dedication and high sense of responsibility they should try to win over the hearts and minds of general masses and create cordial relations and rapport with them. Nisar Ahmed pointed out that some unscrupulous elements are indulging in illegal activities/crimes which directly affect the general public. He stressed upon the Officers and Jawans of Crime Branch to act as eyes and ears of the organisation, collect actionable intelligence and pass on the same to the Zonal Headquarters, Crime Branch, Jammu enabling the senior officers to plan action against the criminals accordingly thereby giving some relief to the common people who have great expectations from the organisation.
He also lauded the role of police personnel posted to the Zonal and District Photo Sections and the dog squad of Crime Branch, Jammu.
During the Darbar several important and relevant questions were raised by almost all the ranks among the participants which were replied by the SSP and all those points were noted down for further follow up action on each point. The Darbar proceedings ended on a happy note.
