Jammu, Mar 11: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Trade Union has urged upon the Governor of J&K state who is also Chancellor of Universities J&K to appoint a local luminary and son of soil as Vice Chancellor of the SKUAST Jammu in place of Dr. B. Mishra whose term is expiring on April, 13,2012.
Addressing media persons Suresh Sharma State President JKPDTU-a labour wing of PDP and B.N.Singh (SKUAST) Distt Vice President urged upon the Government to appoint Vice Chancellor SKUAST from the local qualified and deserving candidates having prerequisite academic as well as professional qualification/experience on the pattern of Central University and University of Jammu.
This will fulfill long due aspirations of the Jammuities and the local cadre of national repute to serve the people of the state.
They pleaded that such a timely and wise decision of the Government particularly Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will definitely be a step towards addressing the regional aspirations of the people of the State in general and non teaching employees association in particular.
A delegation of JKPDTU office bearers will soon be calling on Governor for his appraisal of this issue. |
