| Nav Yug organizes awareness program for rural women | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 11: In connection with celebration of International Women's Day, Nav Yug Women Liberation, a Non Governmental Organization in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Jammu organized an awareness program here in Panchayat Halqa Kangrail under the jurisdiction of block Bhalwal where a large number of local women participated.
Explaining the women participants about the importance of this day, Sneh Lata, president of the NYWL organization said that the Women's Day is being celebrated as mark of respect, equality and justice for the women. She said women are doing 'excellent 'in almost every field and the rural women can also play an important in national development. She urged them to send their children to schools and colleges and pay special concentration towards the education and health of female child.
The participants were also enlightened with general knowledge of laws and various schemes specially run by the state and central government.
The NGO also asked the participants to form self help groups to be economically independent. Other volunteers of the NVWL also spoke on the occasion and shared their knowledge and experiences with the participants.
After vote of thanks by Panch, Nisha Devi, a refreshment treat was also held. |
