Trikuta residents raise objections on selective raise of charges
3/11/2012 11:43:18 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 11:The executive committee of Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society under the chairmanship of Vikram Gour met at the office chamber of the society to take stock of the various problems being faced by the residents of Trikuta Nagar.
Right in the beginning the members strongly objected to selectively raising of 'domestic garbage collection / road sweeping/drain cleaning charges' from Rs 50/- to Rs 100/- per month without any rhyme or reason in few selected colonies.
The members expressed their deep concern and dissatisfaction over the deteriorating sanitary conditions of Trikuta Nagar. The members complained that garbage points have been created at unauthorized points without the consultation of the residents and the garbage is lifted only once or twice a week making the environment extremely unhygienic. The drains are not cleaned for weeks together and the sweeping of roads is taken up selectively.
While some of the roads have been repaired and black topped most other roads are in utterly bad condition and need immediate black topping.
The drains are in extremely bad condition and are being selectively repaired with vested interest of those who have some stake in the work.
All along the main roads passing through Trikuta Nagar commercial construction work is going unchecked and at full swing without any check.
The two Barsaati-Nallahs running right through Trikuta Nagar have become a nuisance for the residents as they are being used for garbage dumping and defecation by the' juggi dwellers'. These Nallahs need to be immediately tamed like the one done by ERA at the entrance of Trikuta Nagar between the two parks so that unauthorized dumping and unhealthy use is put to a stop.
The resolved to immediately seek an appointment with the Administrator Jammu Municipal Corporation to bring the above mentioned points to his personal notice.
