JAMMU, Mar 11: All India Human Rights Association today alleged that a police sub-inspector (SI), who at present was incharge of a police post at Samba, was running a land mafia on the city outskirts here with the connivance of some revenue officials. Talking to reporters here, association president Mahesh Padha and office bearer Naresh Kumar Talla alleged that the SI, his brother and their accomplices, all of whom had high connections, were grabbing the legally owned properties of people through fraudulent means. They said the land grabbers were so well connected that despite complaints against them to senior police officers, no action was being taken against them. Some aggrieved persons had even moved court against the accused, including the SI, they claimed. They alleged that the accused were also hurling threats on the aggrieved parties who had lodged complaints against them.
