| POK refugees to court arrest on March 13 | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 11: Displaced Families from Chhamb, Deva, Watala, Manwar, Bhimber, Kotli, Nah, Bagh, Poonch, and Muzafarabad will assemble at Maheshpura Chowk Bakshi Nagar to court arrest before the police and administration authorities on 13th of March.
As per press release the problems of P.O.K. Refugees have not been solved by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir and GOI despite repeated democratic approach by the P.O.K. Refugee Front. False assurances are being give by the Revenue. Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Raman Bhalla every now misleading the P.O.K. Refugees of 1947, 1965, 1971. The Govt. of India has also adopted delay and deny tactics.
Though the GOI sanctioned relief package for the non-camp DPs of 1947, after directions of National Human Rights Commission, vide its letter dated 09 August 2000 but the Provincial Rehabilitation officer has not started the process of disbursing the above relief package for not staying in the camps, till date.
The P.O.K. Refugee have requested the Deputy Commissioner Jammu to grant permission for paying homage who were killed by the raiders and Pak Army on 25th Nov. 1947. But he denied the permission police put General Secretary Rashpal Singh Chib under detention in his house.
The P.O.K. displaced families left with no choice has decided to court arrest in front of the administrative and police authorities on March 13, 2012. |
