| Govt violates transfer policy, posts PDD man in PHE | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 11: Engineers in Public Health and Engineering (PHE) Department are agog over the transfer of an Assistant Engineer (AE) from Power Development Department (PDD) to PHE department in Samba division.
The move is being resented by officials at all levels. The official namely Kewal Krishan, presently posted as AE in PDD has been transferred vide Govt order no. 26-PW (Hyd) of 2012 dated 11-01-2012 and posted in PHE sub -division Samba of PHE division Samba from his parent department PDD.
Sources said that Kewal Krishan joined services as Junior Engineer (JE) in PDD on 25-07-1980 and was promoted as Assistant Engineer (AE) vide Govt order no. 221 of PDD of 2001 dated 01-06-2001. Consequent to this promotion, he was posted in PDD. Being a diploma holder, Engineers in PHE maintain that Kewal Krishan should not have been posted in PHE department.
They maintain that government did not even for once bother about the respective court directions and government orders which prohibit posting of a diploma holder PDD official in PHE. Sources said that higher officials of PHE department have already been notified about posting of Kewal Krishan and it has been urged upon the authorities to send him back to PDD from where he has come.
They added that court has barred government from posting diploma holder officers working in PDD in the PHE department. "Diploma holders do not have adequate experience for being posted in PHE. Especially, those born on the cadre of PDD cannot be posted in the PHE department. This is violation of government orders issued on this subject. He should be reverted back immediately," said an official.
