Center to take up 250 more villages under PMGSY in J&K | Question Hour in LC | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 12: Union Ministry of Rural Development has agreed to take up another 250 habitations with a population of 250 under PMGSY in 12th five year plan. This was stated by Minister for Rural Development Ali Mohammad Sagar while replying to a question of Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardy. Minister said that all the PIU's have been instructed to prepare and furnish DPR's for250 + habitations for clearance by the Central government. He said that habitations of Siva (Jathelli), Battal Mohalla, Mandal Mohalla, Manthori, Dalkhankoot, Mehri Balwana, Cherote, Pranoo, Malwas, Ogad are part of core network and are being connected with respective roads. Replying to another question by Murtaza Khan. Sagar told the House that the transfer policy devised by the government is being strictly adhered to. He said that authority competent to deal with Junior Engineer Category is Chief Engineer unless it is transfer from one wing to another. Minister also gave details of achievements, funds released etc. of various road projects in Poonch district. Replying to another question by Subhash Gupta, the Minister said that 11 villages have been taken up for development as model villages under BADP while as 16 villages have been taken up for infrastructure development under state sector. He said under state sector, selection of village is done on the basis of considerable critical gaps in the rural infrastructure in village and intention is to develop it on the analogy of model villages. Sagar said that project reports for development of village Sanoora of Gagwal block and Chand Morian of Hiranagar block as model villages have been submitted to the central government for approval and release of funds. Murtaza Ahmed Khan asked supplementary to this question. Minister for Medical Education and Sports R. S. Chib today informed the Legislative Council that 13 community halls and 15 toilet blocks at different locations have been taken up for construction during the last three years in District Srinagar. Replying to a question by Muhammad Ashraf Mir, the Minister said that 48 locations were identified for construction of Bus Bays in Srinagar city at a cost of Rs. 3 crore. Out of which 13 bus bays were completed, 9 bus bays are under progress and 26 are yet to be taken up. He said that an amount of Rs. 9 crore has been incurred on such amenities and there is no discrimination with any area in the distribution of funds for the purpose. Minister for Animal/Sheep Husbandry Aga Syed Ruhullah today said that there is a proposal to regularize 391 Animal/Sheep Husbandry trial centers in a phased manner including creation of 1173 posts of various categories. Replying to a question by Naresh Kumar Gupta, the Minister said 420 posts of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons are also being created for the purpose. Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar told the House that there is a proposal for construction of Flyover from Jehangir Chowk to Natipora and job has been assigned to ERA for its feasibility. Minister of State for Power Shabir Ahmed Khan told the House that Ganderbal town is approved under R-APDRP at an estimated cost of Rs. 16.52crore. Replying to a question by Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat, the Minister said that besides erstwhile Srinagar district is also covered under RGGVY at a revised estimated cost of Rs. 16.98 crore for which Rs. 7.9 crores has already been spent up to December 2011. He said that government has already formulated project report for extension of R-APDRP to 288 towns and would be submitted to Union Ministry of Power for funding. Replying to another question, Minister denied cancellation of appointments in PHE/PDD departments adding that 136 class-IV appointments have been made in PDD while 65 such appointments were in PHE department in Rajouri and Poonch districts. He said that PSC/SSRB have been asked to accelerate selection process of posts lying with them. Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri and Murtaza Ahmed Khan asked the Supplem entaries to the question. Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir replying to a question by Ajay Sadhotra said that 3785 hectares of land are under saffron cultivation and the annual production has reached to 9.55 metric tons. He said that under economic revival of saffron national mission, he said that there is no provision for bringing additional area under saffron cultivation. |
