New transfer policy in health deptt being introduced soon | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 12,: Minister for Health and Family Services, Sham Lal Sharma has said that for expansion and upgradation of health institutions in the state, the government has submitted a comprehensive plan of Rs. 2600 crore to the Centre for approval. He said expansion of health institutions especially in far-off and hilly terrain areas would be considered in coming fiscal. This was stated by the Minister in response to the supplementaries raised by 15 legislators to the main question by Kafeel-u-Rehman in Legislative Assembly here today. He said that the Centre has declared 100 districts as high focused health care districts in the country, which includes 9 districts of Jammu and Kashmir also. He said under this plan the expansion and upgradation of health infrastructure in hilly and far-off districts of the state including 4 in Kashmir and 5 in Jammu divisions is also contemplated. Replying to the main question, the Minister said that construction work of Community Health Centre at Tangdar is a pace at an estimated cost of near about Rs. 7 crore, against which Rs. 5.73 crore have been incurred on its construction. He said the building stands completed accept finishing items. Giving details of the staff strength of medicos and para medicos in health institutions of Karnah Tehsil, the Minister said that new transfer policy in health department would be announced soon. He said there are 126 sanctioned posts of medicos and para medicos, out of which 85 medicos and para medicos are working in health institutions of the area, adding that necessary staff would be posted at the earliest in primary health centres in Chatterkote and Teetwal. The Legislators, Ch. Mohammad Ramzan, Sajad Ahmed Kitchloo, Ashwani Kumar, Jugal Kishore, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Mir Saifullah, Abdul Majid Wani, Master Lal Chand, Ajaz Ahmed Jan, Er. Abdul Rashid, Jagdishraj Sapolia, G. M. Saroori and Krishen Chander raised the supplementaries to the main question and demanded expansion and upgradation of health care facilities in their constituencies. In reply to another question by Durga Dass, the Minister said that Gagwal is not a medical block and there is no sanctioned post of Block Medical Officer there. In reply to another question by Feroz Ahmed Khan, the Minister said that construction of CHC building is under execution at a cost of Rs. 621.68 lakhs including Rs. 150.00 lakhs for central heating system against which an amount of Rs. 190 lakhs including Rs. 90 lakhs under NRHM stands utilized till date.The Minister said that tenders for installation of Central Heating System have been floated and the process for allotment of the work is under progress. |
