PDP to Bring Privilege Motion Against J&K Law Minister | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 12 : PDP member Murtaza Khan today accused law minister Ali Mohmmad Sagar of giving wrong answer to his query on Sakhimaidan-Kalai road work and said he will bring privilege motion against him for giving false reply. As Sagar read out his reply to Khan's question in the legislative council, the PDP member countered that it was wrong answer. Khan said he will bring a privilege motion against the minister. Replying on behalf of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also holds roads and buildings portfolio, Sagar said the work of the first 21-km of Sakhimaidan-Kalai road in Poonch has been given to Economic Reconstruction Agency and the work is yet to be taken up. NABARD has taken the work from 21-28 km and it will be completed in 2012-13, the work from 29-37 km has been taken up under state plan and will be completed by 2013-14. Khan said the minister does not know the status of the first 21-km of road.Sagar told him if Khan contests the figures, he can move against him. On this, Khan said, "I contest your figures. I will bring a privilege motion against you for wrong answer." The PDP member also questioned the transfer policy of the government and said 15 of the 21 PWD engineers in Poonch have overstayed period of postings. The minister has earlier said the transfer policy, under which a person is posted at a place for two years, is being strictly adhered to. |
