| Infighting weakens Udhampur Congress | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Mar 12: Infighting in Udhampur Congress may cost the part a seat in the Legislative Council as the party is undecided over a suitable candidate following death local leader and state vice president Yash Paul Kahajuria last year.
The Party High Command has finally decided in favour of Senior Party leader Jugal KIshore to infuse new life in the Pradesh Congress giving jolt to local leaders who were camping in New Delhi in support of their respective leaders. The infighting continues even as the JKPCC Chief has been putting in efforts to strengthen the party. He is also trying to field a candidate from Udhampur for LC seat. Some elements have been holding a separate monthly meeting to send wrong signals to the people and to the party headquarters. These elements led by one Shakeel Shah have been staying away from the meetings called by Soz. Other leaders who defy the party set up are Ashwani Khajuria , Gita Devi and , Shashi Manhas . Surprisingly they claim that the parallel meetings are held to strengthen the party. However, the workers at the grass root level strongly contest this claim. According to them, it has created indiscipline and chaos. |
