Concern over wheat disease shown | | | Vijaypur, Mar 12: PCC Vice President Hari Singh expressed concern over the spreading of wheat disease in Vijaypur constituency and non-availability of pesticides at government shops and urged upon the concerned authorities to make available necessary pesticides for the wheat disease in the area, immediately. Hari Singh was speaking in a meeting of Congress workers at Vijaypur, yesterday. He said that it was a general complaint of the farmers that they are not getting pesticides from the government to check the spreading wheat disease and they are being compelled to purchase the same from open market which is very costly. Farmers have apprehension that there is black-marketing of a particular pesticide used for the wheat disease. Singh urged upon the authorities to provide adequate pesticides to farmers of Vijaypur constituency and the black marketing may also be checked, effectively. Prominent among others present in the meeting included Rachpal Choudhary, Onkar Singh, Raghbir Sharma and others. |
