| Seminar to teach masses on PMEGP held | | | | SAMBA , Mar 12 : A seminar to teach the masses about the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and other activities being implemented by the J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) through group discussion was held at Rajpura, Ghagwal block. The seminar was presided over by District Development Commissioner Samba, Mubarak Singh and attended by several allied Departments which include Chief Planning Officer Samba, Naib Tehsildar, Sarpanches and Panches of five Panchayats. As many as 400 numbers of unemployed youth and artisans from the surrounding areas attended the seminar. The DDC, Samba Mubarak Singh appreciating the role of KVIB in disseminating the schemes of KVIB for establishing income generating units in such remote and border areas appealed the unemployed youth to come forward and avail the opportunities being provided by the KVIB at their doorsteps. The Prime Minister's Employment Generation Porgramme and other activities being implemented by the KVIB were discussed threadbare in the meeting. Many artisans and unemployed youth put queries about the schemes and the process for applying and seeking the financial assistance from the Bank through KVIB and how it does benefit the masses. The District Officer KVIB, K H Chib along with the field staff acquainted them about the PMEGP and the other activities of the Board and underlined various features of the scheme being implemented by the Board. |
