Bedi commission allows application to visit CM's residence | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 12: The H.S. Bedi commission probing the death of the National Conference (NC) worker Haji Yusuf has allowed an application by the legal heirs of the deceased NC worker to visit the official residence of the State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the headquarters of the crime branch in Srinagar and also the Police Hospital in the city. Mushtaq Ahamd Dar, the lawyer who moved the application before the commission told reporters, "The Commission today allowed our application seeking direction to allow us to visit the residence of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, headquarters of the state crime branch and the police hospital,". The lawyer said he would be visiting the official residence of the Chief Minister in the high security Gupkar Road on March 13th, the crime branch headquarter on March 14th and the police hospital in Srinagar on March 19th. "Our intention to have a look at the place where late Haji Yusuf had been on the day he died. We will also like to talk to some people at these places to try and know more about the circumstances those finally resulted in the death of Haji Yusuf," the lawyer said. Haji Yusuf was called to Chief Minister's Gupkar Residence on after which he was handed over to the state crime branch. He died under mysterious circumstances in the custody of the state crime branch. |
