| IAF to airlift stranded passengers of Ladakh tomorrow | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar , Mar 13 : Indian Air Force (IAF) will operate special aircraft on Wednesday between Srinagar-Leh and Leh-Jammu to airlift stranded passengers of Ladakh region which remained cut off from the rest of the state due to closure of Zojila pass since December 1. Aamir Ali, officer on special duty (OSD) in the office of Kashmir divisional commissioner, said here on Tuesday afternoon that state government has arranged IL-76 special aircraft of IAF for stranded passengers of Kargil. He said since the aircraft could not land at Kargil, it had been decided to operate the flight from Srinagar to Leh and Leh to Jammu. However, arrangements will be made to ferry passengers from Leh to Kargil in buses.
Ali said the passengers stranded at Srinagar, who have already purchased air tickets of Kargil courier from flight number 16 to 20, have been advised to report at Kargil House in Bemina at 07.30am on Wednesday.
Similarly, passengers stranded at Jammu have been advised to reach Kargil House in Jammu at 7am on Wednesday. |
