| Chountra Mata yatra arrangements finalized | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Mar 13: To discuss arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Chauntra Mata pilgrimage during coming Navratras starting from March 23, a meeting of District Officers and Akhand Jyoti members was held here under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ram Rattan Sharma today. Threadbare discussions were held on arrangements like drinking water, power supply, security, first-aid, transport and sanitation at the Shrine site and enroute. ADDC directed the officers concerned to put in their best efforts in making available safe drinking water to pilgrims at darbar and enroute also besides uninterrupted power supply be made ensure by using alternate sources. The Police would ensure security arrangements. He also asked the officers of PWD and Rural Development Department to initiate necessary repair on link road, footpath and stairs leading to the Shrine for the comfortable pilgrimage.
The Akhand Joyti would be lit on first day of Navratra at Narsingh Ji Temple in Ramnagar town and would be carried to Chountra Mata Darbar on March 25, 2012 morning in a procession of devotees chanting religious hymns. Various social and volunteer organizations are holding free langers at holy dabar during the navratra. A yaga would be held at the shrine. Among other, Executive Engineer, PWD, M.R Sharma, Executive Engineer PHE, Dy SP, Suram Singh, Tehsildar, Ramnagar, Sushil Kesar, Inspector, Transport Department, Gurmeet Singh.
Officers of various departments and representative of Akhand Jyoti, Ramnagar were present in the meeting. |
