Gujjar Mahasabha delegation meets Union Minister for Tribal Affairs | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: A delegation of Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha, J&K Chapter under the chairmanship of Eshfaq ur Rehman Poswal along with sarpanchs and prominent functionaries of Gujjar Mahasabha. According a press statement issued from New Delhi, delegation also comprising National Secretary Ch Alla Din khatana sarpanch Malhan Tehsil Surankote, Ch Khurshid Ahmed Sarpanch Dhara block Mandi Distt poonch and others today met with Kishore Chander Dev Minister for Tribal Affairs Govt of India at New Delhi and discussed various issues related to Scheduled Tribes of Jammu & Kashmir including Planning Commission of India's directives to the state wherein state was directed to bifurcate 10% of total plan for scheduled tribes. Poswal and other delegates apprised the union minister that J&K Govt here still not done anything positive towards the implantation of Separate Tribal Sub Plans for the twelve communities of the state stretching from Ladakh to Kathua. Poswal considered the reports and statistics of state government just as an eye wash & time buying. Poswal complained that in J&K state the implementation of the Tribal Sub Plan is still in the office files & no positive steps is being taken in this regard. Poswal appealed to MTA that the J&K Govt has shown in its Annual Report submitted to the Planning Commission of India, that 11.2% of allocated fund i.e Rs. 673.75 crore out of outlay plan amount of Rs. 6000/ Crore has been flown out over TSP for the year 2010-11. But as for the information is concerned no such budget head was made thus no Nodal Agency was framed. Delegation also stated that Socio Economic Political benefit should be availed to the ST's. Meanwhile the delegation appealed the State Accountability Commission (SAC) to see why and how the State Govt has kept the Directorate of Tribal Affairs as toothless & non functioning agency. |
